Yuki Cruz of the Northern California Regional Intelligence Center (NCRIC) Receives The Michael Schooler Critical Infrastructure Protection Award

The 2018 recipient of the Michael Schooler Critical Infrastructure Award is Yuki Cruz of the Northern California Regional Intelligence Center (NCRIC).

Mr. Cruz is a member of the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office and currently serves as an Infrastructure Protection Analysts for the NCRIC. Mr. Cruz holds a post-graduate degree in Urban Planning, and he has put that education to good use by writing two computer programs. One program is designed for use at SEAR-rated special events. It allows analysts to search multiple platforms with a single query. The second program allows a technician to apply a parameter to thousands of pucture before importing. The technician can ask the program to import photos of suspects with specific characteristics such as wearing a red shirt. Both of these programs have proven to be major time-savers for analysts.
