Each year, the NFCA hosts its Annual Training Event in Alexandria, Virginia. Over 700+ fusion center employees, federal and local partners come together to share innovative ideas and business practices for the purpose of enhancing fusion center capabilities and the National Network’s contribution to public safety.  The conference agenda is comprised of numerous breakout sessions, presentations and briefings on various of topics related to public safety challenges and the domestic terrorism threat picture.  Experts from around the country provide outstanding, in-depth instruction on a wide variety of topics to include cyber security, domestic terrorism, federal partner collaboration, private sector engagement and social media monitoring, just to mention a few. In between sessions, attendees network with more than 40-private sector partners who shared the latest in technology designed to support the public safety effort and the fusion center mission.

The 2019 conference, which was a resounding success, featured a number of prominent  keynote speakers including Office of the Director of National Intelligence Deputy Director Lt. General Karen Gibson, Department of Homeland Security Undersecretary David Glawe, Federal Bureau of Investigation Deputy Director David Bowdich, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Acting Deputy Director Regina Lombardo.

Thank you to everyone who attended 2019 conference, and a special thank you to everyone who worked so hard behind the scenes to make it the most successful NFCA Annual Training Event yet. Another great year of training, sharing business practice and innovative ideas is anticipated and the conference planning team is looking forward to surpassing the many accomplishments of last year's event. 

Each year during the Annual Training Event, the NFCA honors the work, sacrifice, and professional excellence of fusion centers and individuals dedicated to protecting the nation. Individuals who have displayed special dedication to the mission of the fusion centers are awarded one of the following awards: the Excellence in the Field of Analysis Award,the Michael Schooler Critical Infrastructure Protection Award, Excellence in the Field of Cyber Protection, Fusion Center Director of the Year, Fusion Center Employee of the Year, Fusion Center of the Year, Excellence in the Field of Fusion Center Outreach, Best Collaborative Effort, HSIN Intel Award, the Life Time Achievement Award, the Terrorism Screening Center (TSC) Award, the Privacy, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties Award, the Maritime Domain Awareness Award, and the David Sobczyk Nationwide SAR Initiative Award.
